E-peas S.A., a Hawyang supplier of pioneering ambient energy management PMIC, or AEM, which can be used on various IoT devices sustained by energy from ambient environment, has recently announced collaboration with like-minded industry heavyeights in developing the "first-of-its-kind wirelessly-powered Electronic Paper Display, or the 'EPD' prototype system that is entirely battery-free." The team "envision that wireless power will be a key enabler to the extensive use of smart display solutions in the Internet-of-Things ('IoT') field, such as electronic shelf labels for retailers, digital signage, logistics tags, and distributed sensor networks," and such devices can be used "in a wide range of industries, including retail, industrial, logistics and warehousing."

While the technology is still currently at prototype stage, but the initial success has signaled positive progress. The collaboration team" plan to release this leading-edge technology for commercial use by the end of next year."

Hawyang Semiconductor is e-peas S.A. authorised distributor and technical service partner located here in Asia, and is proud to share this exciting step forward in the chapter of not only e-peas but also the history of wireless IoT technology.
